This course is suitable for persons experienced in MIG welding and/or requiring welding qualifications.

Example: - EN287 or BS4872

It is important to confirm your initial interest by booking and paying for this 1 day course in advance to enable us to allocate our trainer to the date you require. The cost of the course for up to 6 people is £445.00 + VAT.

Optional Extras - should you require certification to EN287 or BS4872.

Test fee costs for EN287 - £195.00 per person + VAT

Test fee costs for BS4872 - £175.00 per person + VAT

Once our training consultant has evaluated your exact training requirements for example numbers attending, test certificates required etc we will contact you with full costings to be paid in advance of the 'on-site' training course implementation.

Welding Qualification (Codings)

The test fees charged are per test piece per person for each welding qualification. These test pieces are taken from site on the day and submitted for weld testing. If for unforeseen circumstances no test piece is submitted you will be reimbursed for each test fee after the course is completed.

Those attendees who do submit test pieces for evaluation at the test laboratory (UKAS) if succesfull will be issued with a qualification certificate to the appropriate standard.

Course

Welding Technology and Health and Safety - (Classroom based)

Lecture covering Health & Safety and basic understanding of the welding processes used. Covering types of weld defects and their prevention, setting up the equipment, storage and handling of consumables and shielding gases. This aspect is accompanied by a written test paper.

Practical Welding

  • Setting up the equipment and reviewing the functions available.
  • Checking the equipment.
  • Setting the correct weld parameters.
  • Torch angle position and the correct speed of travel for the application.

Practical demonstrations throughout the day and a review of the company's welding needs.

Welding thin wall plate joints T fillet, lap joint, attachment welds, heavier section plate and pipe welds in all postions

Materials

Materials used in this course are determined by your requirements. Example - Mild Steel, Stainless Steel or Aluminium.
